Al Fresco Bridal Shower at San Ysidro Ranch

Any gathering of girlfriends is a perfect celebration in my book, but when it comes in the form of a lush, garden bridal shower styled to a T? Well, let’s just say we couldn’t share this beauty fast enough. Designed by Twine Events with calligraphy from Curliecue Designs, it’s a feminine twist on the al fresco luncheon, and Lavender & Twine captured every last bit. Enjoy!

From Twine EventsThe day before the wedding, the bride and her sister hosted a bridal shower luncheon. It was a time to gather all the girls, get them excited about the big day and say thank you for flying in and celebrating. San Ysidro Ranch is a magical little gem that holds pockets of spaces for you to get lost in. It is also where the wedding is going to be the next day, so it was a great idea to show off the Ranch to the gals. The wine cellar patio was perfect spot to host the shower luncheon. We played off the lush garden atmsophere with a garland runner and added pops of purple blooms (a color the bride loves).

A little indoor lounge area was created for any ladies to beat the heat. It was gorgeous, yet very sunny day but to these Texan ladies, it was perfect and not too hot at all. The food was served family style and integrated fresh vegetables and herbs from the Ranch’s personal garden. She also wanted to include pops of the unexpected and fun elements for the ladies.

While the luncheon was for the bride, the bride wanted to make sure her ladies were showered just as much. We created a flower station for the ladies to pick up a flower crown or hair clip to wear during the event. It was also a chance to make them feel girly and play dress up.To make them feel extra special, we set personalized ribbon calligraphy place cards for them to keep. The ladies even made fabulous bracelets out of them. It also helps it was one stylish group of ladies!

Autumn Backyard Virginia Wedding

Anything Karson Butler Events touches turns to instant wedding gold, and the proof is in the pudding. We’re talking a classic-yet-contemporary autumn “I do” with blooms by Sidra Forman and stationery handiwork from Meant To Be Calligraphy. It’s a celebration of two D.C. sweethearts – who met working the last presidential campaign! – and lucky for us the pretty from Amelia Johnson is just getting started.

From Karson Butler… Sarah & John are as sweet as they come, and we were so honored to plan & design their East Coast wedding with their families. The couple met while working on the last presidential campaign and now reside in Washington, DC.

They were married at the LDS Temple followed by a reception at the bride’s parents house in McLean, Virginia. We loved designing an event space that would foster a true celebration of love and family. From an incredible infusion drink station, to comfort food stations, and mixed seating throughout the tent, we were so very honored to help with this very special day!

Elegant Backyard Wedding in Australia

Moet & Chandon, garden roses and an elegant backyard… if I could hand-pick elements for a wedding re-do, these would all be a part of the mix. Captured by Bentinmarcs Fine Art Photography, this day is a collection of gorgeous images,  an intimate gathering of loved ones and a Bride who literally outfitted the entire wedding party with the help of her mom. See the images here!

From Bentinmarcs Fine Art PhotographySarah & Tristan had the sweetest intimate wedding held in their backyard with the closet friends and family members. To make the wedding even more amazing was the fact that Sarah and her Mum Kathy from The Ivory Gown made all the dresses, suits and Sarah’s beautiful wedding gown. I truly felt that I was part of the family, never feeling more welcomed at a wedding I even had my own table setting amongst the 18 guests.

From The Bride…I was never one of those girls who had her wedding dress planned in detail from a young age, which might be surprising considering I work with bridal gowns every day. I knew I wanted to include elements reminiscent of the glamour of the “Old Hollywood’ era, but largely let the design evolve as it was being made. I used all silk fabrics with the most beautiful, delicately beaded and sequinned lace and played around with the detail on the bodice until it looked just right. I had intended to sew silk covered buttons down the back of the dress, but I adored the way the lace looked without them, which meant I had to think of a new way to finish the back. The best and most seamless way was to be stitched into the dress! Although this might sound stressful to some, it actually felt really calming to have my mother slowly and carefully place the last stitches on the lace moments before the wedding. Having the opportunity to create my wedding dress with my mother was truly something special, and funnily enough one of the greatest fans of my dress became my dog, a 50kg Maremma, who sat right next to me on my silk train at every opportunity she could get!
